While recently visiting a BMW-dealer I noticed that the gaps between panels is getting bigger. Well, it seems that the cost of precision is catching up to the manufacturers. Or it might be so simple that they simply want more profit.
The need for nice gaps has diminished as the German Premium Auto Makers have embraced the "Panzer Design" as I like to call it. If you look at current offerings from Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, you will see that there is even less delicate features than there ever was on German cars. Now, they look like intimidating big blobs without style. We'll see how long this trend lasts...
